Kula Botanical Garden – Maui, Hawaii

The Kula Botanical Garden lies on the western slope of Haleakula at an altitude just over 3000 ft.  It is only a half hour SE of the Kahalui airport, and makes a wonderful trip by itself or together with a coffee plantation or distillery visit or the nearby lavender farm, or even after a sunrise visit to the top of Haleakula.       We visited in early March and the flower displays were spectacular, including several dazzling varieties of protea.
